Doug- Well you have conquered so  much these last months and I want you to know my heart has been out there for you and Cole! You are such a wonderful Dad and Cole is so lucky to have you as his protector! If I can do anything at all for you or the kids just let me know. You know that I will help in any way that I can! Katie needs to come and spend the night with Kiley and Lynsea again! Soon! Welcome home Doug and Cole!

I can't believe that the waiting is almost over and you are just about home.  No one has really worried too much about when you would be home, until we heard you were on your way.  Now we are all anxious for you to get here.  Katie and Griffin have both been so patient, waiting for their lives as well as yours to have some semblance of normal. 

I know there is lots of work left to do, but coming home really feels like you've jumped the biggest hurdles.  I have no doubt that having your brother and sister with you will push you along quicker than all the therapists in the world would do. 

Try to get some rest these last 2 days, because I'm sure you'll be kept busy once you are home.  Doug, don't forget that's there are lots of people around willing to help when and where you need it.  You are not alone so don't let yourself get overwhelmed when you get back.  When people ask what they can do to help, just tell them.  I'm sure there will be something.  Now finish packing and come home.
